August the 7th

By Stephen Nissley | August 7, 2021

August the 7th and it will be another warm day here in Maine.

Many times yesterday I prayed and asked the Lord for direction for the devotional this morning. As he would direct my thoughts I would question the reason for this. It is so simple Lord, everybody knows this. Then I read about the college professor that was fired for calling a man who tried to change into a woman….a man? I could go on and on to the foolishness today.

In Proverbs 22:6, we read, “Train up a child in the way he should go:” (notice the colon there meaning this is a complete thought) and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This doesn’t mean children may go bad but when they are old they will come back!

I have often said if you train your children God’s way and they go wrong, it is God’s fault. Train the boys to be boys and do boy things. Look like a boy, dress like a boy, work like a boy, walk like a boy, run like a boy. Do boy things with dad! I can always tell when mom is the dominate one of the home, it shows in the mannerisms of the boys.

Same with a girl, mom needs to train them to do girl things. I stayed overnight with Tim and Taylor last Sunday night. Paisley got her room all ready for Pop pop to sleep in. I was blessed to see in her room was an almost complete play kitchen!!! That’s what a little girls room should look like. A little girl needs a mom who stays home and teaches her. Not send her off to the day care center where some salaried stranger is just putting in their day.

Training involves discipline. This will have to wait, I filled your wagon pretty full already today.
