Georgia Secretary of State: ‘There should be a law that bans ballot harvesting’

Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, made waves on Sunday’s CBS “Face the Nation,” when he stated that America needs to “make sure that nationwide there should be a law that bans ballot harvesting.”

His comment comes just after Georgia election officials confirmed last week that they were launching an official investigation into a ballot harvesting scheme that occurred during the 2020 presidential election.

The ballot harvesting operation, also called a “ballot trafficking” scheme, was captured on video in November 2020 and first shared on air in September 2021 by radio host John Fredericks with Steve Bannon, a Trump ally and former advisor.

According to a previous report from RSBN, the footage allegedly shows 240 hired ballot trafficking operatives dumping ballots into ballot boxes in the dead of night across the state of Georgia – and across the nation.

Raffensperger continued his thoughts on the investigation and the subject of ballot harvesting with a clear, albeit obvious, statement via Just the News: “I don’t think that ballot harvesting is good. The only person who should touch your ballot is you and the election official. So, I think that’s one solid election measure.”

Additionally, it is estimated that the margin of fraud in Georgia during the 2020 presidential election was possibly in the thousands, which brings into question the so-called margin of victory for Joe Biden.

For example, according to the report from Just the News, Joe Biden only “won” Georgia by a little over 11,000 votes. In other words, such a slim margin of victory could easily be reversed if it could be proven that a ballot harvesting scheme swayed the end result on election night.

Further, RSBN previously reported that an election integrity group called True the Vote interviewed a Georgia man who said that he was being paid thousands of dollars to harvest ballots in Atlanta for the presidential election and the Senate run-offs in Jan 2021.

That is just one of many examples of the dubious and underhanded activities that seems to have occurred in Georgia during the 2020 election, and there are countless other stories just like it around the nation.

Unfortunately, Raffensperger had a chance to audit Georgia’s presidential election results in 2020 and declined to take action. While Raffensberger’s comments that ballot harvesting should be illegal is a nice sentiment, it may be too little, too late.

Ballot harvesting is already illegal in Georgia, which prohibits the pick-up or drop-off of ballots by a third party. However, ballot harvesting is legal in other states, which means that a third party can deliver the ballot on your behalf.

Raffensperger is up for reelection and is facing Trump-endorsed candidate Jody Hice.
