A whistleblower has come forward to claim that Joe Biden’s administration is about to announce a mandate forcing U.S. Border Patrol agents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by November or get fired.
Meanwhile, no vaccine mandates exist for migrants, meaning possibly thousands of COVID-positive migrants are crossing the border into the U.S.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Ranking Member on the House Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) sent a letter to Department of Homeland Security Chief Alejandro Mayorkas demanding to know why Border Patrol agents are being threatened with termination if they don’t get vaccinated amidst a crisis.
“While our border is facing this serious crisis, we have learned that you are threatening to terminate a significant portion of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) workforce,” the letter read. “On September 9, 2021, President Biden issued Executive Order 14043 requiring federal employees to vaccinate against Covid-19 or face termination of their employment fully.”
The letter pointed out that firing agents will only put a further strain on the Border Patrol.
“For years and through multiple administrations, it has been difficult to recruit and retain men and women to serve in U.S. Border Patrol,” the Republicans added. “The locations of the job are typically remote, and the job is often dangerous and hard. Their job is made even harder when senior officials, including Vice President Kamala Harris, spread false accusations of cruelty.”
Jordan and McClintock were clearly referring to comments that Harris made about Border Patrol agents last week comparing images of agents on horseback trying to catch Haitian migrants to slavery.
“First of all, I’ve been very clear about the images that you and I both saw of those law enforcement officials on horses – I was outraged by it,” she said last Friday. “It was horrible and deeply troubling. There’s been now an investigation that has been conducted, which I fully support, and there needs to be consequences and accountability.”
“Human beings should not be treated that way, and as we all know, it also evoked images of some of the worst moments of our history, where that kind of behavior has been used against the indigenous people of our country,” Harris added.
While Harris and her fellow liberals accused the agents of using whips on the migrants, the photographer who shot the photos said they were not using whips on anyone.
“I’ve never seen them whip anyone,” photographer Paul Ratje told KTSM-TV. “He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.”
Jordan and McClintock concluded the letter to Mayorkas by pointing out how absurd it is to force agents to get vaccinated. At the same time, COVID-positive migrants are being let into the country.
“It is simply unbelievable that the Biden Administration will allow Covid-positive illegal aliens to surge across the border but will terminate dedicated law-enforcement officers who do not comply with Biden’s mandate,” the letter said.
Vaccine mandates are wrong in any situation, but they are particularly unjust here. Every American should be free to make their own decisions on whether or not to get vaccinated without having to worry about losing their jobs.
